Optimal Slab™
Dry-Shake Hardener
The patented dry-shake surface hardener that eliminates liquid hardener applications entirely.
How It Works
Optimal Slab is applied in 2–4 layers (up to 10 kg/m² / 2 lb/sqft) onto freshly placed concrete during finishing. Unlike traditional dry shakes that use a single 3–5 kg application, Concria's patented multi-layer method ensures complete, uniform coverage.
During power troweling, Concria Trowel Hard nano-silica is applied to densify the surface at the molecular level.
The result: the entire floor is hardened, densified, and cured in a single visit. No return trips for liquid hardener application. No curing compounds. No sealers.
Key Benefits
7-Day Polish-Ready
Ready for polishing in 7 days vs. 28 days with traditional methods. Dramatically accelerates project schedules.
Low-Carbon Compatible
Works with Type 1L / CEM III low-carbon cements where traditional dry shakes fail. Future-proofed for green building specs.
Fiber Encapsulation
Completely hides steel and synthetic fibers in the surface for a clean, uniform finish.
Uniform Color
Consistent color even in challenging conditions — heat, wind, and low humidity. No blotching or discoloration.
10,800 PSI Strength
Compressive strength over 5,000 PSI at 7 days, up to 10,800 PSI at full cure.
Extreme Abrasion Resistance
Böhme A3–A6 rating, Mohs hardness 7. Comparable to granite.
Dust-Free Surface
No lithium or sodium silicate treatment needed — surface is permanently dust-free from day one.
50+ Year Lifespan
Outlasts epoxy by decades. Polish-only maintenance keeps the floor performing for the life of the building.

Optimal Slab vs. Traditional Dry Shake
Concria's patented multi-layer application method delivers fundamentally different results than traditional single-pass dry shakes.
| Optimal Slab | Traditional Dry Shake | |
|---|---|---|
| Application method | Patented 2–4 layer process | Single broadcast layer |
| Application rate | Up to 10 kg/m² (2 lb/sqft) | 3–5 kg/m² (0.6–1 lb/sqft) |
| Densifier included | Yes — Trowel Hard nano-silica | No — liquid hardener needed later |
| Curing compound | Built in — not needed | Required separately |
| Low-carbon cement | Fully compatible (CEM III) | Often fails or underperforms |
| Fiber visibility | Complete encapsulation | Fibers often visible |
| Color consistency | Uniform in all conditions | Prone to blotching |
| Polish-ready | 7 days | 28 days |
| Lifespan | 50+ years | 10–20 years before resurfacing |
Optimal Slab vs. Epoxy
Epoxy coatings look great on day one — but they wear out. Optimal Slab is the floor itself, not a coating on top of it.
Optimal Slab
- ✓ 50+ year lifespan — outlasts the building
- ✓ Polish-only maintenance — no recoating ever
- ✓ Zero downtime for floor maintenance
- ✓ No VOCs, no chemical off-gassing
- ✓ No delamination or peeling risk
- ✓ Applied once during construction
Epoxy Coating
- ✗ 3–5 year lifespan before recoating
- ✗ Full strip-and-recoat every cycle
- ✗ Facility downtime during recoating
- ✗ VOC emissions during application
- ✗ Peeling and delamination in high-traffic areas
- ✗ Ongoing lifecycle costs add up significantly
